Axel Xplayout ist eine moderne IP-basierte - beliebige Dateiformate - Automation, ermöglicht aber auch die traditionelle Fernsteuerung externer Geräte wie Cart-Maschinen, Videorecorder, Logo-Generatoren und insbesondere GPIs und Master-Steuerungen, Videomischer und Routing-Switcher, wie Blackmagic Atem, Videohub, Newtek Tricaster oder jedes Gerät mit RS232/422-Steuerung. Live-Events können direkt in die Playlist eingefügt werden und TCPIP- oder serielle Befehle werden automatisch an die externen Geräte gesendet. Alternativ können Live-Quellen im "AV-Bypass-Modus" gelüftet werden, indem sie an die Eingänge der Capture-Karte des Systems angeschlossen werden. In diesem Fall kann eine Verzögerung von 3 Sekunden bis zu mehreren Tagen angewendet werden, um einen Zeitverschiebungsmodus zu erreichen, sehr praktisch bei der Verwaltung von Zeitzonenunterschieden in Ländern.
